News has been received that Private J. Blundell (8th Light Horse, 3rd L.H.  Bgde) has been killed in action. Private Blundell was an Essendon State School boy, and was well-known in the district, being a good sportsman. Prior to enlisting, he held a position as a lapidary, which he relinquished to join the colours. Private Blundell is the eldest son of Mrs. J. Lynch, of 25 McPhail street, Essendon, and his brother, Private G. A. Blundell, is at present in camp.

He gave to his country his all, his life.
