"Private Hector H Dodd, son of Mr E H Dodd, of 42 Athol-street, Moonee Ponds, enlisted on the 1st of September, 1918, and embarked with the 21st Reinforcements to the 36th Australian Heavy Artillery Brigade on the transport Wyreema on the 14th of October; but the vessel was recalled on account of the Armistice.  He was discharged on the 16th January, 1919.  Prior to enlisting, he was teaching at School No 2608, Ascot Vale".
