Flemington-Kensington Church News, October 1917
9562 Driver Alex Eastgate 807th Coy Motor Transport, ASC, 3rd Div Supply Column, sailed for Egypt on 18th February, 1916, and served in several capacities. For a time he was in the Light Horse. He arrived in Lark Hill Camp, Salisbury Plains, England in September, 1916, and went to France in November of the same year. Friends will notice that he is now with his brother Ernie in the 3rd DAC. Very best wishes to our soldier lad and may he return in prime vigour to tell us of the many strange things he has heard of and seen.
