RIFLEMEN STILL ENLISTING

Birnie Inches, the crack Essendon rifleman, has enlisted for active service. In the first of two tests held to select the team to represent this State in the Commonwealth match in 1913 he bolted from the other 95 competitors, and was 16 points ahead of the next metropolitan marksman, after putting up some phenomenal scores. He was a hot shot to run up against when on the job. He several times won the Essendon Club championship.

RIFLEMEN AND THE WAR

Riflemen will be glad to hear that Birnie Inches, the crack Essendon marksman, who recently had his appendix removed at Salisbury Plains, is now progressing favorably.

Amongst those who returned from the front on Saturday was B. C. Inches (son of Mr. A. Inches, of Ascot Vale), who before enlisting was a prominent member of the Essendon and Flemington Rifle Club.
