Distinguished Conduct Medal. Among the list of those who gained honours in the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force appears the name of Staff-Sergeant H. Jackson. As no word had been received from H. G. Jackson his office comrades verified the following as having been received by the Defence authorities, supplemented by his private address. The following extract is taken from "The Times Weekly" of 4th June: - "Distinguished Conduct Medal, Mediterranean Force. The King has been graciously pleased to approve of the following rewards for gallantry and devotion to duty in connection with the operations at the Dardanelles -—Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, No 1065, Staff-Sergeant H Jackson, Australian Army Medical Corps." The citizens of Essendon desire to congratulate his sister, Miss Jackson, 48 Maribyrnong Rd, Moonee Ponds, on the honour conferred on her brother.
