John Rupert Holden lived in Euroa. His training in Signals may have gone some way in assisting him to get a position as a telegraphist. Rupert joined the AIF in Sydney in 1914, and was wounded at the Landing at Gallipoli. He was returned to Australia but returned to duty and went overseas again with the 12 Field Ambulance, earning a Mention in Despatches.
Corporal Ern Latchford is standing in the second back row, far left. A similar photo at the Australian War Memorial is labelled Port Melbourne Artillery School of Instruction. Ern is in his 6th AIR uniform, so the year is probably around 1910. Courtesy of Mark Latchford.
