News has come to hand that Private Henry William Allan, son of Mr W H Allan, of 20 Napier street, Essendon, has been mentioned in despatches for conconspicuous services rendered while in Egypt. Private Allan is in the AMC and is attached to the 1st Australian General Hospital. He is at present in France.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Allan, of Napier street, Essendon, have been notified by the Defence Department that their son, Harry, previously reported as being dangerously ill, is now pronounced out of danger.
