PORTER AND BARRY

Advices as to other members of this club [St Thomas' Harriers] are that S. R. Porter was well on October 6, and that Jeff Barry, who was recently wounded, is now across at Salisbury temporarily laying up.

"Barry, Jeffrey, Private

Born 22nd June 1891.  Became a clerk; enlisted 29th Dec 1915, in the 8th Battalion, Infantry.  he was wounded at ..... on 18th August, 1916 and served in Egypt and France.  He returned on the 29th June 1919 and has become a traveller".

For some reason Jeffrey Barry's name has not been included on the two honour boards at the school.
