"Begg, Jules Gascard, Sapper.  Born 18th Sept 1896, was educated at Scotch College; enlisted 8th Mar 1916, in the 10th Field Engineers.  He saw active service at Messines, Armentieres, Amiens & Peronne, and was engaged in the final  push.  He was wounded at Broodseinde Ridge, on the 4th Oct 1917.  Both before and after the war he was employed as an architect".
