Made a statement to the Australian Red Cross about the disappearance of Pte James Booley at Gallipoli.
When a second contingent of local men were farewelled at the Town Hall in 1914, Buckler's name was mistakenly recorded (or mistypeset) as C Brictiller, which surname doesn't see to exist. This name was subsequently transferred to the Essendon Gazette Roll of Honour and from there to the Essendon Town Hall Honour Board. Fortunately C N Buckler was also recorded correctly in the two Honour Rolls.
James Booley's brother Stanley attended the farewell at the Town Hall, presumably with Clive Buckler, despite having not known local connection. James and Stan Booley were both from Nyang in the Wimmera.
