Private P. R. Burns was formerly in command of the veterinary part of the Broadmeadows Isolation Camp, but at the time of his death he was a private in the 2nd Brigding (sic) Train. He is a stepson of Nurse Burns, late of The Parade, Ascot Vale, now of 418 Ascot Vale road. A remarkable co- incidence in connection with Private Burns is that his birthday was in August, also his father's; his grandfather, mother, aunt, youngest brother died, and he himself was killed, in August, and each one on a Saturday.

Private P. R. Burns was formerly. (1915, September 30). The Essendon Gazette and Keilor, Bulla and Broadmeadows Reporter (Moonee Ponds, Vic. : 1914 - 1918), p. 5 Edition: Morning.. Retrieved January 15, 2012, from http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article74590261
