Callaway was hospitalised in Mena Camp, Cairo,  with sore feet, caused by flat feet and corns under his great toes.  Admitted to hospital 3 February 1915 and discharged on 28 February 1915. 

 

Was in Volkrust Hospital, South Africa in May, 1900, with a sore feet and left hip.
