A very impressive service was held on   the 25th March last at the Evangelical Hall, Mt. Alexander road, Essendon, in connection with the unveiling of an honour board to the young men of the church and school who have gone to fight for God, King and Empire in the great war. The preacher, Mr. Thos. MacDonald, who, during the service, unveiled the honour board, made a stirring appeal to those present to fight under the banner of the Lord Jesus Christ. The City of Essendon was represented by the Mayor (Cr. S. Pynor), Cr. and Mrs. Fenton, Cr. and Mrs. Nattrass and Cr. Lyons. The collections for the day were £4 15s, which will be given to the Red Cross Funds. Church of England services are held in this hall every Sunday, to which a hearty invitation is given to all.
