Private H J (Jack) Whitelaw, of Lorne street who left with the M.G.S. 7th Battalion, in a letter to his parent, dated 16th May, stated after 10 days' fighting he had been taken to the Mediterranean Hospital, with rheumatic fever. He was on the mend, and being well looked after. He hoped to be back in the fighting line before long.
