HOW HE FELL
Private Wright (Moonee Ponds), of the
14th Battalion, was wounded by shrapnel
on May 19 at Quinn's Post. He is an un-
emotional Australian, of fine physique, and
his simple story bears the impress of
truth.
"I was just outside the trenches," he said,
"when the shell burst, and I went down.
I'll soon be all right again."
"Were you going out to attack them?"
he was asked.
"No," said Private Wright, "I was fall-
ing back to get my tea."
