The Schoolhall at St. Monica's, Essendon, was well filled with an appreciative audience, including the Rev. Fathers Galvin and O'Collins, when, under the auspices of the C.Y.M.S., Mr. Jack Collins gave an interesting account of his experiences while on active service. The president, Mr. Behan, occupied the chair. Mr. Collins, after touching briefly on the period spent in camp at Broadmeadows, and the leave-taking on the pier at Port Melbourne, gave in detail the life on board a troopship and his experiences at the front.
