G is for Gallipoli, Guns and Galls galore;

H for our Heroes, there by the score;

I for I.N.F., so steady and true;

J for Jack Johnsons - we all get a few ;

K for Kaiser, Kultur and Kiel;

L for his Losses--he had a good deal;

M for our Monitors and their big guns

N for our Navy, manned by England's brave sons;

O for Ottoman's Empire, soon to fall to the ground;

Q for Quartermaster who issues the stuff;

R for Roaring if we don't get enough;

Cook was later promoted to company sergeant major.  He returned to Australia on 28 March 1918 as a member of the 58th Battalion.
