The 1914 Electoral Roll shows that Hugh Davies, tinsmith, living at 55 The Parade, Ascot Vale.  In 1919 he had moved to the corner of Sargood St and Retreat Rd, Hampton in the subdivision of Sandringham,   In the same year James Percy Davies was listed at 53 The Parade, Ascot Vale, tinsmith.

"Davies, James P, Private.  Born 28th June 1894. Enlisted 18th March 1915.  He served with the infantry in Gallipoli and France until his return in 1919.  At Pozieres in 1916 he was wounded by a high explosive shell.  In private life Private Davies was a sheet metal worker".
