At the age of 19 Harry Webb won a prize for his industrial design in Motor Bodies:

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Webb, 259 Ascot Vale rd., Ascot Vale, have been notified that their son, Gnr. H . W. Webb, was killed in action on 4th October. At the time of his enlistment twelve months ago, he was an active worker of the Chelsea, Congregational Sunday School, filling the position of secretary.
