"The knowledge that out in Egypt,
preparing for the final struggle, are seven-
teen members of our branch, with many
members from other branches, and that other
members have sons there, and that many
other Church lads have also gone—that all
these have so nobly responded to the call of
their King and country, and are foremost in
this great enterprise, fills us with pride, and
calls us to unstinted prayer. The names of

Dorothy Axford Dolan, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon J. Dolan, of Wangaratta, is the first child born to a returned soldier member of Holy Trinity Cathedral, and in recognition of this fact, as well as of Mr. Dolan's services to the church as a member of the choir, the Baptismal service at the Cathedral was made more interesting than usual. After the Baptism by Rev. S. O. Seward, Mr. and Mrs. Dolan were the guests of the choir and lady friends at afternoon tea in the parish hall and opportunity was taken by the Rev. S. O. Seward to present Mr. Dolan with a gold brooch, adorned with the colours of his former battalion, for his daughter. He expressed the earnest wishes of his friends for the future health and happiness of Mrs. Dolan and her daughter, and briefly referred to Mr. Dolan's good services to the choir. His unusual musical abilities had made him a very valuable member, and his willingness to assist the choir added to the value of his services, and made his associations most pleasant.
Mr. Dolan suitably acknowledged the unique compliment. Mr. Dolan was well and popularly known in Moonee Ponds, where his parents reside, and was among the first of the local boys to respond to the Empire's call.
