The Evans' were a Bendigo family.  George and Mabel evidently made arrangements for Mabel to live with George's brother and sister-in-law  at 94 Fletcher St, Essendon while he was away.   The following year George's brother John also enlisted. Mabel returned to Bendigo in mid 1917.

 

George transferred to the 2 Pioneer Bn 4 March 1916.

 

 

In 1923 George's medals were posted to 41 Hardiman St, Kensington.
