FOLEY Pte P 502  M. April 2 1915

This man was killed and I saw him dead on the first day that we landed.  We were pushed back some distance, so his body was left out.

____________

This man was wounded in the foot by shrapnel during the advance on April 25th 1915 at 5 o'clock in the evening close to Shrapnel Gully.  I was only 20 yards away from him at the time.  He went off limping to the dressing station and I never saw him again.  We held the ground that day.   Foley was a little dark chap, about 5' 6", cleanshaven and about 35 years of age.
