ESSENDON CLUB'S RECORD.
The "Dreadnought" Club at Essendon consists of 24
young men, of whom 22 have either gone to the
front or are in camp. Of the others, one holds a
certificate that he is wanted by the Defence
department for home service, while the twenty-
fourth is under 18, and is therefore not eligible
for enlistment.

THE DREADNOUGHTS CLUB.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE ARGUS
Sir, - In your issue of Friday last you had a paragraph
re the fine recruiting record of "The Dreadnoughts" Club,
Essendon. The item remains incomplete without the fol-
lowing facts.
1. The club consists of the young men's class of the
Essendon North Methodist Sunday school.
2. All the lads are under 21 years of age. This has meant
parental consent, with its sacrifice, in every case. In one
family three sons have volunteered; in another family
a younger son is now going, whose elder brother was
killed in the early days on Gallipoli.
3. There has not been a single rejection for unfitness.
The church and schools had a united meeting last
night to wish them "God speed. -Yours, &c.,
W C JAMES,
Teacher and President, Essendon, May 3
