Wilson Gordon is seated on the ground at the front. The soldier on the left is wearing a 2nd Pioneer Battalion colour patch. Taken at Tidworth. This may have been in October 1916 while still training in England at Perham Downs. The 3rd Reinforcements of the 2nd Pioneers joined their Battalion in

"This is a photo of some of the boys out of our hut and myself. We live in huts over here but I would sooner be in
tents, though the huts are not bad. We had it taken when we were out for a walk one day at Tidworth. From Wilson".
Returned to Australia "for a change" in August 1917.

It is not certain whether it was Wilson or his brother Rothie, or both, who sent home these souvenirs to their mother.
