A HERO AND A SPORT
Lieutenant William Cuthbertson Greig has died of wounds, received in France on April 30, 1917, after two years' active service in Gallipoli and France. He left Victoria on May 8, 1915, as a corporal, and was promoted lieutenant in August, 1916, for meritorious services.
He was one of the early members of the Bookmakers' Association of Victoria to enlist, and was held in high esteem by his fellow-members, his gentlemanly conduct and strict, honorable methods endearing him to all whom he came in contact with either in social, sporting, or business life. He was the only surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Greig, 65 Ormond street, Kensington. He was but 25 years of age, and leaves a widow and son, to whom deep sympathy is extended. A HERO AND A SPORT.
