During the past week word has been received from the front that Private Charles Collingwood Guest fell in action on the 30th January last. Charlie as he was known by his mates on the Metropolitan Farm, was a highly respected young man. He left Australia with the first troops that embarked, and went through the Gallipoli campaign without a scratch. After the evacuation he was sent to the Western front. Previous to enlisting Charlie was an employe of the Metropolitan Board. He was a Collingwood native, and was named after his birth place. His nearest relative was a married sister who resides in another State, and to her we extend our deepest sympathy.
