LECTURE BY CR. GOLDSWORTHY.
The fortnightly meeting of the above branch was held in Thursday last in the town hall, Moonee Ponds. President J. E. Edwards occupied the chair before a large attendance of members and the public. Five new members were elected, and three pro positions were received. A letter was received from Mr. H. C. Prunty, resigning position as vice-president of the branch, he having enlisted with the Expeditionary Force. The recommendation of the committee that leave of absence be granted Mr. Prunty till end of current half-year, was adopted. .....
A presentation of a wristlet watch was made to Mr. Prunty on behalf of the branch by the Mayor (Cr. Goldsworthy), who congratulated Mr. Prunty on the step he had taken, and wished that he would return safely when victory was won. Mr. Prunty returned thanks to the branch and the Mayor for the good feelings expressed, and assured them that he would do his best, and hoped to be able to relate his experiences when he returned.
