In 1914 George Grantham Anderson was listed in the Electoral Roll living at Trinity College in Parkville as a medical student.
At the time of his death Anderson was working with the Royal Army Medical Corps at the 51st General Hospital. He was then aged 30.

Mrs Anderson made a claim for her husbands' 1914 Star, 31 July 1920. The index card indicates he had a period of leave in Canada.

His many friends in Melbourne, including Scotch Collegians and University men of the last decade, will regret to hear of the sudden death of Major G. Grantham Anderson, R.A.M.C., which occurred at Etaples, France, on the 4th inst. Major Anderson, who graduated with honours at the Melbourne University, when war broke out was a house surgeon at the Great Ormond street Hospital for Children in London. He volunteered for active service, and became attached as surgeon to the 37th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery. He was afterwards appointed to hospital work at Havre, and subsequently in a specialist capacity at Etaples, where he was given the direction and organising of one of the large hospitals there.

House surgeon at Great Ormond St Hospital, London. When war broke out commissioned in RAMC and sailed for France August 1914; promoted Major, acted as Surgeon to 37th Bde, RFA, subsequently appointed to hospital work at Havre, and then became a specialist at Etaples, where he was given organisation and direction of a large hospital. He died suddenly at No 51 G H, Etaples, on 4th November 1918, aet 30.

* Alexander John Robertson appeared in the 1909
Electoral Roll living at 35 Hutcheson St, Moonee
Ponds, occupation student. He enlisted in
Western Australia with the 11th Battalion,
occupation engineer. He was killed on
06/08/1915, and buried at Shell Green
Cemetery, His parents still resided at 35
Hutcheson Street. He may be the 'A Robertson'
listed on the St John's Presbyterian Church
honour board.
