NOTE: Although the Maribynong-Bagotville Hill Returned Soldiers' Memorial records MSM next to the name of "L Harvey", there is no record of a Meritorious Service Medal having been issued to Sergeant Harvey. There is nothing recorded in Sergeant Harvey's Attestation papers, nothing in the AIF Nominal Roll for any L Harvey, and nothing in the AWM list of Awards and Recommendations to indicate any Harvey at all received the MSM. The Maribyrnong-Bagotville Hill Welcome Home Committee, however, refer to Sergeant Harvey having an MSM in a report dated 25 May 1922.
