I saw Heathcote's grave near Basentin just up the hill from the dressing station in a cemetery containing several hundred graves. There was a white cross on it with his name and those of about 4 others painted on it. G Dow was one of the names but I did not know him personally. I knew Heathcote well. I do believe he was killed in a raid. He came over as a sergeant.
