Recommendation for Military Medal
39th Battalion AIF 910 Sergeant HILL, Frederick Guy
On the nights 6th/7th and 7th/8th May 1918 in the locality of MERICOURT he was attached to Company Forward Headquarters and on both nights displayed courage and resource of the highest quality. Time after time he acted as a runner, maintaining communication between Posts under terrific shell fire, he organised several carrying parties and delivered supplies to threatened points, and guided working parties on to jobs requiring immediate labour. He showed himself fearless and resourceful and throughout both nights behaved with utmost gallantry and courage.
