Witness says soldier was killed on 15/7/16 at Fleur Baix by a "Minewerfer". He was struck in the abdomen, whilst in the trench. Witness helped to carry him back, and they had to leave him for a while in a traverse. Several hours later he was buried in the Fleur Baix cemetery at the corner of the cross roads. Captain Chaplain Williams performed the ceremony. Description: Hgt 5 ft 7. Dark complexion Informant: Meldrum, H D, 2277 58 Batt, A Coy.
