Australian Red Cross Missing and Wounded Enquiries Bureau Correspondence
No 5372 Pte J W Johnston, 22nd Battalion, AIF who is officially reported Missing since 7.5.17, we very much regret that up to the present we have been unable to obtain any information concerning him. His name has never come through on any of the German lists as a prisoner of War, and we ear that this lack of definite news is not a hopeful sign.
We are still pursuing our inquiries and will advise you as soon as we obtain any information.
