A number of friends and relatives assembled at the house of Mr. W. P. Kerr, "Nirvana," Bank street East, Ascot Vale, on Thursday evening. September 9th, to bid farewell to his brother-in-law, Private W. T. Jones, younger son of Mrs A. J. Ling, "Fernihurst," Chester street, Moonee Ponds, who left with the 7th Battalion (9th reinforcements) on September 10th.
