Killed in Action 22.8.17

re 31419 R Kelly.  He was working a gun with me and a shell burst close to us and a piece of shrapnel hit him and killed him instantly and he was taken away that night to a village in the North of France and was buried in a Military Cemetery.  He was 23 or 24 years old short nugget build, fair hair and round features and a very good athlete.  With regard to the registered No of his grave I am unable to say where it would be registered.

Letter from Sgt A Bellett
France 11.2.18.
