ASCOT VALE CHURCH OF CHRIST v. MOONEE PONDS METHODIST.
Played at North Essendon. A.V. C. of C. won the toss and batted first. The innings yielded 105 runs. Roy Kemp (27) played a good innings, and Dave Moncur (24 not out). W. Harris (23) and R. Payne (16) batted well. The bowlers were Plough, 2 for 11. McCrae 2 for 36. McDonald 1 for 16, and Rowe 2 for 42. The Methodist have lost no wickets for 39. McCrae getting 18 and Rowe 12. Stumps were then drawn on account of rain. The match will be concluded next week.

Ascot Vale Church of Christ won the toss and sent the Baptists in to bat. They were all out for 25. C. of C. made 101 runs. The Baptists made a better stand in their second innings, and scored 51 runs, leaving Ascot Vale Church of Christ winners by an innings and 25 runs. The best players were:--A.V. Church of Christ bowlers - Roy Kemp 3 for 3, W. Mason 7 for 11, D. Moncur 4 for 19, H. Campbell 4 for 20. Baptists bowlers--R. Smith 4 for 50, Coulson 6 for 47. Ascot Vale C. of C. batsmen--W. Mason 19 not out, R. Kemp 14, H. Campbell 15, D. Smith 11, D. Moncur 10. Baptists batsmen--Moore 21 and Munro 10 were the only batsmen to get into double figures.
