7033 Pte W. Renton Kerr, 6th Batt., embarked for England on 23/11/16, and on arrival there was sent to Lark Hill Camp. He had leave in London, which was found most interesting. He was sent to France in April 1917, where he had many experiences common to the soldier's lot. In November of that year he was unfortunate in being smitten with enteric fever. After a couple of weeks in French hospitals he was sent to Addington Park in England, where he speaks of the splendid treatment given to the patients.
From thence he was sent to Hurdcott. On reaching convalescence he again visited London, and went to see a relative in Suffolk, where he was very kindly received. He was sent over the Channel in April 1918, and was transferred to the transport service of the Battalions. During leave he has visited many places in the three kingdoms, and has had an interesting run to Brussels.
