Private Edward S. Simpkins is a native of Newmarket, and is 19 years of age. Prior to enlisting he was an employee of the City Council at the abattoirs.

Private E.S. Simpkins has been removed from the  dangerously ill list, and is showing good progress.

C.S.M.  F. Hughes  (14th Battalion), of Moonee Ponds, is reported to be in hospital, and Private E. S. Simpkins (7th Battalion) is also in hospital.
