GALLIPOLI VETERAN KILLED
Mr A. McPhee, until recently Head Stationmaster at Flinders street,
has received a cable message stating that his son, Sergeant Victor
Alexander Douglas McPhee, was killed in action In France on
April 10. He and his brother, Sergeant J. E. McPhee, left Melbourne
with the Australian Imperial Force In December, 1914. They both
belonged to the Fourth Division Field Ambulance. They took part
in the landing on Gallipoli, and remained there till the evacuation.
They afterwards went to France. Sergeant J. E. McPhee, who won
the Military Medal for a gallant rescue under fire at Polygon Wood,
is still fighting In France. Their parents, Mr and Mrs A. McPhee, live
at 1 Violet street, Essendon.
