Flemington-Kensington Church News, December 1917
7320 Sergt F Leach, 2nd Casualty Clearing Hospital, left Australia on 23rd Nov 1915. He was in Egypt some months and sent to France in April 1916. His work in the Casualty Clearing Hospital is often very strenuous and trying. He comments on the non-delivery of Australian mails for a considerable time. The mail is very eagerly looked forward to. We congratulate Fred on his promotion and feel sure it was very deservedly won. In a recent letter he says - "We are very busy at present and have been for some time. The outlook is that this will continue. However everyday brings this war nearer to a close so we shall have to keep going for a bit yet".
