Jack Anderson was the son of William Anderson of the Flemington Meat Works.  He grew up in "Gooparle", Lang's Rd, Ascot Vale.

 

Private Jack Anderson, son of Mr  W. Anderson, of Flemington Meat Preserving fame, has enlisted. He will be remembered as a leading player of the Essendon (A.) football club; and is also well known among the local cricketers.
