Word has come to hand that Sergeant J. C. G. Schafer, of Learmonth street, Moonee Ponds, who has been dangerously ill at the front, is now improving.

Mr. Schafer, of Learmonth street, Moonee Ponds, has received word from the Defence Department that his son, Serg. Schafer, F.A., was gassed in France on October 19th, and has been sent to the Voluntary Aid Detachment Hospital, Cheltenham, England.
