The death occurred, on Monday night, 21st inst., of Mrs. Bessie Ryan, wife of Mr. Thomas Ryan, dairyman, of McPherson street, Essendon. The deceased had been a martyr to paralysis for the past five years, and had been a patient sufferer. She and her husband had been residents of Essendon for the last 25 years, and were well known and respected. The news that her only son Signaller Duncan Ewart Ryan (who had been wounded at the front was going back to the firing line, adversely affected her and brought on the end.
