Whilst I lay wounded on the 19th July at Fleurbaix, I noticed lying near me about three yards away, the above named casualty.  I crawled over to ask him for a drink, but when I touched him I found he was dead.  I took away his water bottle.  I am positive it was the above named soldier.

Killed at Fleurbaix, Company were going over the top at the time.  Power was killed by a machine gun bullet through the head - killed outright.  He was left in No Man's Land.  Known as Bert and came from South Melbourne (later address of people Gower St, Melbourne. )
