6597 Pte Selby Gordon Stearman, who enlisted in South Melbourne.
Mr. Alfred C. Stearman, of 11 Elizabeth street, Moonee Ponds, has received word that his son, Private George Stearman, has been wounded in the leg while serving in France. A subsequent letter states that the leg was amputated, and that the patient, who was in hospital at Calais, was slowly recovering. He is with the 6th Battalion. 15th Reinforcements.
