Private L. W. Wilkins, who was employed by the local Tramway Company prior to leaving for the front, was reported missing on August 5, 1916, during the strenuous fighting around Pozieres. His relatives have been much pained by receiving, within the past few days, a significant remittance, in the form of Private Wilkins' kit, identification disc, etc., but no official notice of his death. Private Wilkins is a brother of Inspector E. J. Wilkins, of the N.M.E.T. and L. Company.

In Memoriam

WILKINS.-In loving memory of our dear brother,

Private Len Wilkins, No. 3961, killed in action at

Pozieres on August 5, 1916,

He sleeps not in his native land,

But under foreign skies,

Far away from those that love him

In a hero's grave he lies.

He leaves behind some aching hearts

That loved him ever dear;

Hearts that never shall forget

His memory written here.
