ON ACTIVE SERVICE.
WILSON.-Died of wounds at Ist A.G.H., France, on October 27, 1917. Robert Hugh Anderson Wilson, dearly loved eldest son of Robert and Elizabeth Wilson, and brother of Ann, Georgina, Jess and Tom, 152 Walter street, Ascot Vale, after serving his King and country for over two years: aged 21 years and 6 months. Our loss his gain, for God hath said, Blessed is he that giveth all for righteousness' sake: For great shall be his reward in Heaven. ESSENDON CHURCHES.
MARIBYRNONG PRESBYTERIAN v. ESSENDON CH. OF CHRIST.
Commenced on former's ground. Maribyrnong wore black armbands out of respect to one of their late members, Private R. Wilson (killed in action). Church of Christ batted first and made 12 (Nixon 18, Cheal 16). Barlow 5 for 4 (hat trick). Westgarth 5 for 18, secured the wickets. Maribyrnong have lost 3 for 108 (Page 54, Westgarth 20, Fraser 18 not out). The match will be resumed next Saturday.
