McHardy D A Munitions worker 592

Word has been received by the last English mail that Mr. David McHardy, late of Mackay street, Essendon, who left here last November as a munition worker, landed safely in England on 6th January. Mrs. Duncan McHardy has been notified by the Defence Department that her husband, who also left as a munition worker in December, arrived safely on the 11th February. Both are sons of Mr. McHardy, Field street, Moonee Ponds, and came to Australia from Inverness, Scotland, a few years ago. Mr. McHardy's two younger sons, Frank and Willie, who left here with the 8th Reinforcements of the 5th Battalion in 1916, have been reported missing in France since July of last year; and any returned soldiers from France knowing them or anything of them, are invited to call or write to their anxious parents at above address.
