Mrs. Thomson, of "Carshalton," Queen's avenue, Ascot Vale, has received word that her husband, Q.M.S. J. A. Thomson, has been awarded the meritorious medal in France. Prior to enlisting he was employed on the clerical staff of the P.M.G.'s Department, and was an old scholar of the Essendon State School.

This NCO is Clerk to the Brigade Major, RA, which position he has held for the last twelve months. He is possessed of considerable ability and energy, and is most enthusiastic in his work, of which he has mastered all details. A very valuable man in the position he occupies.
