Private J (Leo) Mulkearns (died of wounds, 3rd June) is the third son of  Mr J Mulkearns, of Byron street, Moonee ponds, formerly in the employ of Keogh and Co.  He was educated at St Patrick's College, East Melb., and was a member of St Francis choir.  He enlisted under Lieut-Col Elliott, 7th Battalion and was 21 years of age the day they landed at the Dardanelles.

Private J. L. Mulkearns (died of wounds) was the third son of Mr. J.   Mulkearns of Moonee Ponds. The deceased, who was a member of the  Sacred Heart Sodality, St. Monica's, Essendon, was an exemplary Catholic and very popular in the district. He was formerly in the employ of Keogh and Co., and was 21 years of age.
